Deputy Big Shot is a type 7 FFL Class II NFA Weapons Manufacturer & Dealer Firearms & Ammunition. Specializing in Suppressors, we also offer popular firearms and ammunition with an extensive AR build center.

Deputy Big Shot is an all American, family operated gun store. In our pre-litigation years, we cherished sharing our outdoor shooting range with the public. With more than 50 years experience in the firearms industry, the Chapo family has been dedicated to promoting responsible firearm training in a safe family-friendly environment.
However, starting with a neighbor’s noise complaint in 2016 and culminating in a 2025 negotiated settlement in the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Chapos were finally able to reclaim their personal Constitutional Rights to use their own land unencumbered by our local goverment. After nine years of lawfare, it took a heaven-sent mediator to cut through the manipulated facts and manufactured lies.
Unfortunately, the complicit lower courts had denied the same right to Deputy Big Shot, which is now prohibited from operating a “commercial” shooting range. This means the shooting range is closed to the public (but not the Chapos).
Thanks to our current commissioners, Jefferson County does not have a single shooting range available to the public or even one dedicated for our law enforcement. Where do they train to obtain and maintain profiency? It’s not in Jefferson County.
